Residential Services
Through the Energy Advance Loan Program, the Coastal Electric Cooperative will lend you money to replace your old, inefficient heating and air unit. We will lend you up to $6,000 for up to 5 years at a current 5.25% interest rate.
Here is how it works: 1. Fill out the information on a Consumer Loan Agreement and Customer Information Sheet (this allows us to run a credit check). 2. Contact one of the HVAC Dealers listed [click here]. 3. Ask the dealer to fax the quote for your unit to us or you can bring the quote by the office. The quote must be for a 13 SEER minimum unit. 4. There will be a credit check. 5. We will advise you of the results of the credit check and the amount of your payments. 6. If you decide to proceed, you will need to contact the dealer to begin the work. 7. When work is completed, we will come out and inspect. 8. After inspection, you will need to come in and sign the contract. 9. We will then issue a check to the dealer.

A
Surge Guard protection plan
is available upon your request. This is a two stage plan.
Here is how it works: The first stage of protection is at the Coastal Electric meter base on your home. This device is placed behind the meter and it is designed to stop any surges that can come into the house through the meter. This device allows us to provide a 15 year warranty for your motor driven and white good appliances. The warranty pays up to $1,200 per appliance for repair or replacement, whichever is less, for a maximum coverage of $10,000.
The second stage of the protection plan is inside the house. Secondary power strip devices are installed to reduce the chance of internal surges that can damage connected equipment. The devices protect your in-house sensitive electronics such as your television, stereo, modems & etc. The devices carry a 15 year warranty on connected equipment up to a maximum of $25,000. For further information on installation charges and monthly maintenance charges, please contact Coastal Electric.
