kWh - Your electricity is measured in increments of kilo-watt-hours which reflects the number of watts in thousands that you use in one hour. The meter measures the number of kilo-watt-hours of electricity you use each month to power your heating or air conditioning unit, your water heater, electric stove, refrigerator, freezer, television, lights, and other appliances.

Meters are read in one of two ways: By meter readers that visit the meter once a month or automatically by electronically reading the meter over Coastal Electric's power lines.
